I’ve been acutely aware of my health lately. I watched a handful of documentaries that haven’t turned me into a GMO nazi – but they got me thinking. As a college student, my budget doesn’t allow for a lavish fridge of organic veggies and antibiotic free meats. For those of us on a budget, I think it’s the little steps that make a pretty big difference. The documentary Food Matters on Netflix takes a pretty dramatic look at the food we eat and nourishment.

There’s a decent amount of toxins in the everyday things we eat and use for cleaning. Fluoride in toothpaste is linked to Alzheimer’s and there’s chemicals in our everyday drinks that we need to be aware of. I’m not on a crusade to push everyone around me to eat this insane raw diet, but it’s important to know what you’re putting in your body.
