One of those Mondays where I type in my password six times, with various capital letters and exclamation points until I finally remember what it is. Nothing a little caffeine and a good playlist can’t fix.

This week! This weekend! It’s been fantastic.

A quick lesson from a nearly blind girl: For us visually impaired, slipping on a pair of glasses shrinks your eyes to “beady eyed serial killer” status. Look at my temple, then compare it to the side of my face behind the lens. BLIND! BEADY! CREEPY! All that aside – got these babies this week, making them my first pair of glasses in almost three years. Being able to see the TV through glasses is absolutely heavenly.

Orlando is breaking out all the stops with this rainy yuck weather. At least I feel sassy when I walk around campus in my vampire coat.

Kent came up and visited me for the day on Friday. Here’s me being a walrus at dinner.

& then, I went… Downtown?

Kris and I met up with some of her friends on Saturday night + bar hopped for awhile. It was such a good time!

For Christmas I got my Dad tickets to the UCF v UCONN basketball game – Dad grew up in Connecticut and has watched the UCONN basketball games for as long as I can remember. He came up Sunday afternoon and I took him to all my stomping grounds, we ate delicious food & then spent the evening watching UCF try to keep up with the Huskies. Earlier this year UCF got stomped by them, something like a 30 point lead – but they kept up much better this time. There was even a point in the second period where I thought we might win.

From right before the game when he announced it was “selfie time”

My dad is the absolute best. I’m getting choked up sitting here trying to think of the right words to describe him. Endlessly patient, giving, kind with a strange sense of humor.  His appreciation for music and religion is something I admire and his refusal to be a 65 year old continuously amazes me. He’s my go to guy for help on everything from crosswords to investing in a mutual fund. If I end up with someone half as awesome as him, I’ll have done pretty good for myself.

That’s it for this week, y’all.

A good one for a slow Monday:
